Look here at the mortar junction between the altered wall and the original wall. That is sand mortar. Indians building the complex at the time did not use sand concrete to build structures, but DAL paste. This allowed for rocks to fit very tightly, since sand mortar is never as strong as the rocks they hold together (notice the cracks between the red stones and the mortar itself).
